Privacy Policy
Effective 24 August 2026 · Last updated 24 August 2026
The short version. We hold your birth details, your questions, your dreams, your moods and your readings, because that is what makes a reading about you. We have never sold or shared your personal information, and there is no advertising or analytics tracker anywhere in this app. We do not keep your photos. We only have an email address if you chose to give us one, and we confirm it before we ever send to it. You can export or delete everything, at any time, in two taps.
This policy explains what MyDreamGenie LLC collects through mydreamgenie.com, why, who touches it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to everyone; where a US state gives you extra rights, those are in section 10.
1. What we collect
- What you tell us at signup: your first name, birth date, birth time and birth place (which we convert to coordinates and a timezone), your relationship status, what you came for, and optionally your gender and pronouns.
- What you ask and write: your questions, dreams, journal entries, mood check-ins and notes, the messages you paste in to be decoded, and your answers to the typing quizzes.
- People you add: the name, role and birth details of anyone you track — an ex, a friend, a partner, a boss.
- What we work out: your computed chart, your readings, your typing results, and a short set of remembered facts drawn from your questions (for example, a partner’s first name) so later readings do not ask you the same thing twice.
- Photos and voice, in the moment: a photo you send for a photo reading, or a voice note you record. See section 3 — neither is kept.
- Technical and usage: a session identifier stored in your browser, the IP address you signed up from, approximate country and city derived from your connection, your device type, browser language, which features you open, and the referral or campaign link you arrived through.
- Payments: that a purchase happened, what it was for, and an identifier from Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Notifications: if you turn on push, the subscription token your browser gives us.
Your email address, only if you offer it. We never ask for one to sign up, and the app works fully without it. If you add one in Settings we send a single confirmation link, and until you tap it nothing else is sent. We use it to let you back into your account on a new device, to send receipts, and — only while you want them — occasional notes about your chart. Every one of those carries a one-click unsubscribe that needs no login, and receipts keep working after you unsubscribe. Remove the address in Settings and it is deleted.
We do not collect your phone number, and we do not ask for your precise device location, your contacts, your photo library or your calendar.
2. Sensitive information, and what we do about it
Some of the above counts as sensitive personal information under California law and as sensitive data under other state laws: your moods and mental state, anything you write about health, your relationship status, sexual orientation if you mention it, your precise-enough birth data, and information about other people.
We use it for one thing only — producing the readings you asked for and remembering your context between them. We do not use it to infer characteristics for advertising, we do not profile you for decisions with legal effects, and we do not disclose it for anyone else’s purposes. Under California law you may limit the use of sensitive personal information; we already limit ours to what section 4 describes, so there is nothing further to restrict — but you can still delete it at any time.
3. Photos, voice, and biometrics
This matters, so it is exact.
- A photo you send for an aura, face, palm or handwriting reading is transmitted to our AI provider to produce that reading and is never written to our database. We do not keep it, and there is no photo library in your account.
- We do not collect, capture, store, or use biometric identifiers or biometric information as those terms are defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, or Washington’s biometric statute. We do not create a faceprint, a face-geometry scan, a voiceprint, or any template that could be used to identify you, and we do not run face recognition or matching. A face reading is a description written from a picture, in the way a person might describe one — it is not measurement and it is not identification.
- A voice note is transcribed to text by OpenAI and the audio is not retained by us. The transcript is treated like anything else you type.
- The reading produced from a photo or a voice note is saved to your library, like every other reading, until you delete it.
4. Why we hold it
- To produce readings that are actually about you rather than about nobody.
- To remember context, so the app does not ask you the same question every week.
- To run your account: your balance, your streak, your saved readings.
- To send the notifications you turned on, at the times you chose.
- To take payment, and to answer you when something goes wrong.
- To keep the app working and to stop fraud and credit-farming.
- To comply with the law.
We do not use your content to train AI models, and our providers are engaged on terms that do not permit them to train on it either.
5. We do not sell or share your information
MyDreamGenie LLC has never sold personal information, and has never shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act — and we have never done so with the personal information of anyone under 16. There is no advertising pixel, no analytics SDK, no session-replay tool, and no social-media tag anywhere in this app. There is nothing here for you to opt out of.
If that ever changes we will update this policy, tell you before it takes effect, and provide a working opt-out. We would rather it never changed.
6. Who else touches it
Only these, only to do a job for us, and only under contracts that forbid them from using it for anything else:
| Who | What they do | What reaches them |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | writes the readings | your question, chart, saved facts and recent readings; photos you send for a photo reading |
| OpenAI | transcribes voice notes, and generates some artwork | the audio of a voice note you record |
| Stripe | takes payments | your card details, which go to Stripe directly and never reach us |
| Render | runs the servers and the database | everything the app stores, at rest |
| Microsoft (Outlook / Microsoft 365) | delivers our email, if you give us an address | your email address and the contents of the messages we send you |
| Higgsfield, Replicate, ElevenLabs | generate artwork and read readings aloud | the text to be spoken or the prompt for a picture — never your chart or your questions |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our Terms, to protect someone from harm, or to a successor if the business is sold — in which case we will tell you first, and this policy will keep applying until you are given notice of a new one.
7. Consumer health data
Mood check-ins, journal entries and anything you write about your mental or physical state may be consumer health data under Washington’s My Health My Data Act, Nevada’s SB 370, and comparable laws. For that data specifically:
- We collect it only because you typed it into a feature whose purpose is to reflect it back to you, and we use it only for that.
- We do not sell it, and we would not, which under those statutes would require your separate written authorisation.
- We do not use it to infer anything for advertising, and no advertiser receives it.
- You can delete it — individually, or all of it — from Settings, and we will delete it from our systems and instruct our processors to do the same.
- Nobody inside the company reads your journal except where you ask us to look at something, or where we must to investigate abuse or comply with the law.
8. People who are not you
When you add someone — an ex, a friend, your boss — you are giving us their name and birth details, and they are not our user and have not agreed to anything. We use that information only to compute their chart for your reading, we do not build a profile of them, we do not contact them, and we do not connect them to any other account. If you delete them, their data goes with them. If a person believes you have entered their information and wants it removed, they can write to support@mydreamgenie.com.
9. How long we keep it
- Your account, chart and readings: until you delete them. The value of the app is that it remembers, so we do not quietly expire your library.
- Photos and voice audio: not retained at all.
- Deleted data: removed from live systems immediately and from encrypted backups within 30 days.
- Payment records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years. These are records of transactions, not of readings.
- Signup IP and anti-fraud signals: up to 12 months.
- An inactive account: if you have not opened the app for 24 months we will delete it and everything in it.
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can see what we hold, export it, correct it, and delete it — from Settings, without asking us, and without giving a reason.
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you also have the right to:
- Know the categories of information we collect, the purposes, and who receives it — all of which is in sections 1, 4 and 6.
- Obtain a portable copy.
- Opt out of sale, of sharing for targeted advertising, and of profiling with legal effects. We do none of these, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — see section 2.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of this. We will never degrade the app or change your price because you asked.
How to exercise them: use Settings, or write to support@mydreamgenie.com. We respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need a further 45. We verify a request by matching it to your session, or to a confirmed email address if you have given us one, rather than by asking for identity documents — we will never ask you for a photo of your ID.
An authorised agent may act for you with your written permission. If we refuse a request, we will say why, and you may appeal by replying with “Appeal” in the subject line; we will answer an appeal within 45 days, and if we still refuse we will give you your state Attorney General’s complaint address.
We honour Global Privacy Control browser signals. Since we do not sell or share, the signal changes nothing about how we treat you — but it is respected.
11. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it, and payment details never reach our servers. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant regulators as the law requires, without unreasonable delay.
12. Children
MyDreamGenie is for adults 18 and over. It is not directed to children, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16 — we do not do either for anyone at all. If you believe a child has used the app, write to support@mydreamgenie.com and we will delete the account and its contents.
13. Where your data lives
We operate in the United States and your information is processed there. If you use the app from outside the US, you are sending your information to the US, where privacy law differs from your own. Our AI and payment providers may process data in other countries under standard contractual protections.
14. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for a material change we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. We will not apply a materially different use to information we already hold without asking you first.
